Bio

Jay A. Nunez, Esq is an attorney at Sargent Law Firm. Born and raised in Orange County, California, Jay has lived in Southern California his entire life. Jay has a Bachelor’s Degree
in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and is a proud Bruin alum. Jay graduated from Loyola Law School, in Los Angeles, California, and while
there was in the Scott Moot Court Honors Program.

Prior to joining Sargent Law Firm, Jay worked in-house for a national insurance company for 30+ years. Jay understands what motivates insurance companies to settle cases long before trial, however Jay is also confident in his ability to take difficult cases to trial when needed. He has tried over 120 civil jury cases to verdict in San Diego, Orange, Riverside and Imperial counties.

Jay is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) having achieved Advocate distinction. ABOTA is a national organization that recognizes excellence in the courtroom, as well as professionalism, integrity, and ethics. Jay also works as a mediator, and has been on the San Diego Superior Court mediator panel for over 25 years. As a mediator, Jay has seen just about every type of personal injury claim or lawsuit. With Jay’s abundance of past work experience, Jay is extremely qualified to advocate for those seeking justice in personal injury cases, and we are thankful to have him on the SLF team.

Jay and his wife have raised three children in coastal north San Diego County. They have been active in their community, including their children’s schools, and youth sports organizations.

They enjoy traveling, the beach, the desert, and just being outdoors.
